Leadership Education and Development: Enriching Experiences for Women in Hematology and Oncology (LEAD)
LEAD is a 2-day conference is focused on providing clinical updates, career development, and professional networking for women involved in hematology and oncology. Sessions include discussions on the importance of women’s leadership, career development workshops, and clinical sessions on biomarkers and oncology therapies. Over 100 women in oncology are expected to attend the LEAD conference, including well-known hematologists, oncologists, clinicians, researchers, and academics from across the United States.
The target audience for this conference is women in hematology/oncology careers including physicians, nurse, residents/fellows and other healthcare professionals seeking professional networking and science-based insights into the hematology/oncology landscape.
After completing this activity, participants should be better able to:
- Describe career development techniques and clinical science skills
- Foster a team-based collaboration to bridge the academic-community gap among women oncologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
- Evaluate recent therapeutic advancements for the treatment of solid and hematologic malignancies and discuss including their incorporation into clinical practice
- Anticipate drug class-specific adverse events that may occur with current cancer therapies, and strategies to manage these adverse events
- Select evidence-based supportive and palliative care approaches, as well as counseling strategies for patients throughout the continuum of their cancer care

This activity is provided for up to 11.4 contact hours under ANCC criteria. Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider #13699 for up to 13.7 contact hours.
